Maivu keeps your trips for you. This page says what it keeps, who helps it do that, and how to get it back or make it go away. Maivu is made by Proxima Labs LLC in San Diego, California.
The short version
- We keep what you give us — your trips, the confirmations you add, and the profile you fill in — so the app can show it to you and the people on your trip.
- We don't sell it, we don't show ads, and the app has no tracking or analytics scripts. We count how much it's used, never what's in your trips.
- A few companies help run the app. Each gets only what its job needs.
- You can delete a trip or your whole account from the app.
What we keep
Your account. Your email address, so you can sign in.
Your profile. Only what you choose to fill in. Your name, which the people on your trips see, and your home airport, seat preference, and loyalty programs and cards are kept with your account, so they follow you to a new phone. Your full name, your home address and preferences such as the people you travel with stay on your phone and aren't sent to us.
Your trips. The bookings, places, times, confirmation numbers and notes that make up each trip, and a history of every change — what changed, when, and who changed it. That history is how undo works, and how people on the same trip see each other's changes.
The confirmations you add. When you add an email, PDF or screenshot, we keep the text read from it and a fingerprint of the file, which tells us if the same file is added twice. We don't keep the file itself.
Feedback you send, with your account if you're signed in.
Notifications. If you allow them, your phone's browser gives us an address to send them to. We keep that address, a label for the device, and the browser's name.
Links and invitations you make. Who they're for, what a view-only link shows, and a scrambled copy of each link's code — never the code itself.
When something breaks. If the app hits an error on your phone, it sends us the error's message, which screen it was on, the version of the app, and the browser's name. Nothing that says who you are or what your trip is. We delete these reports after 30 days.
How much the app is used. Each night we count the day before: trips made, confirmations added, changes, sign-ins and feedback. Once a day, the app also tells us a trip was opened — just that it was opened, with nothing about you or your phone. These are counts only, kept for good, and they never include what's in a trip.
On your phone. A copy of your trips and settings, so the app works with no signal.
The app doesn't use your phone's location.
Who helps us run it
- Supabase stores the database, signs you in and sends sign-in emails.
- Cloudflare hosts the app and runs its servers.
- Anthropic reads each confirmation you add, so it can become bookings in your trip. It receives that confirmation's text or image, and nothing else about you. Under its commercial terms it doesn't train its models on what we send.
- AeroDataBox (through RapidAPI) or aviationstack looks up a flight's status. It receives the flight number and date only.
- Open-Meteo gives weather forecasts. It receives a place's coordinates and dates only.
- Apple and Google deliver notifications to your phone, so a notification's words pass through them.
- Apple Maps opens when you tap a place.
Who sees your trips
The people you add to a trip see it: an editor can change it, a viewer can only read it. A view-only link shows only what you switch on, and only until you turn it off. Confirmation numbers, costs, documents and notes can never be shown through a view-only link.
Deleting
A trip. Delete it from its menu. It disappears at once and is permanently deleted after 30 days. Until then you can bring it back.
Your account. Delete it from You. Your profile, the trips only you are on, and the links you made are deleted at once, and your feedback is no longer tied to you. Trips you share with others carry on for them, and the changes you made there stay under your name.
A deleted thing can remain in our database provider's backups for a short time before they roll over.
